The Administration section allows you to manage and configure Indigo Payroll.

What are Permission Sets?

Permission sets allow you to decide which users get access to which functions in Indigo. You can find them by going to Administration > Main > Permission Sets.

What are Permission Sets used for?

Each key function within Indigo has a permission assigned to it which can grant a user access to that function. By assigning Permission Sets to users, any users who are a member of that group get access to the functions afforded by the Permission Set.

There are three tabs:

  • Permission Sets: lists the full permission sets available in the system.

  • Assigned Permissions: lists only those permissions that have been assigned to the user.

  • Unassigned Permissions: lists those permissions that have not been assigned to the user.

Creating a Permission Set

  1. Go to Administration > Main > Permission Sets.

  2. In the Permission Sets tab, click on Insert (+).

  3. A new entry will be added at the top of the grid. Enter the code you want to give your Permission Set, write a short description and click Save.

You can now add permissions to your new Permission Set.

Adding Permissions to a Permission Set

  1. Go to Administration > Main > Permission Sets.

  2. Find the Permission Set you need from the grid, select it and click on the Unassigned Permissions tab.

  3. Search for the single permission to be assigned using the Code or Description columns.

  4. Tick the permission's check box and click the Insert (+) button.

  5. In the resulting modal, select or deselect the entity actions according to how much access you want to grant with the permission, then click Save.

  6. Repeat steps 1 to 5 for all the single permissions you want to add to your Permission Set.

Any user already assigned that Permission Set will now automatically have access to the feature granted by the newly added permission.
