As we welcome the breezy shift into autumn, 🍂 our first October update kicks off with a crisp Feature Spotlight; a powerful set of new controls for Task Management.

  • 🔍 Filter templates by company.

  • 👉 Decide who manages templates across companies in the tenant.

  • 👁️ Toggle visibility between company-specific and tenant-wide options.

You’ll also notice a more polished look across the platform, thanks to a unified icon library that brings visual consistency 🖼️ to Attendance, HR, and Performance Management.

Attendance sees smarter enhancements with new formula fields and API upgrades, making shift tracking more flexible than ever. Meanwhile, Payroll & Leave enjoys improved leave entitlement logic while clearer reporting helps you manage employee data with precision and ease.

🔍 Filter Templates by Company in HR's Task Management

Ever tried finding your company’s task templates in a sea of everyone else’s? Like searching for a needle in a haystack ... good luck! 😅 That's not a problem you'll face in Indigo! With this update, you can now limit which users have access to create or edit tenant-wide task templates, thanks to new permissions. 📜

Previously, any user with Task Management permissions could apply templates across their tenant, increasing the risk of clutter and misassigned tasks. This change reduces that risk by fine-tuning visibility and editing rights.

And there’s more! 🤩 Another new permission introduces a powerful new capability. It activates the Show all companies switch in the Templates grid, allowing users to toggle between viewing only their assigned company’s templates and those of every company in the tenant. This is especially useful for users who need broader visibility—even beyond tenant-wide templates—to include company-specific ones across the tenant.

Result? Cleaner workflows, better data segregation, and peace of mind. No more accidental cross-company task assignments, just the right tasks, assigned to the right people, in record time. 🏃

💻 Platform

  • If you've noticed Indigo looking sharper lately, it’s not your imagination. We’ve revised the icon experience across Indigo Attendance, Performance Management, and HR by switching to a shared icon repository for cleaner and more consistent visuals across our products. ✨

  • This exercise included sorting out few icons that were misbehaving, including:

    • Some missing lock 🔒 icons in the Scheduler (Attendance)

    • In Task Management (HR):

      • Overlapping Preview and Select buttons.

      • A few missing file 📁 icons in task templates.

      • The folder navigation back arrow, ⬅️ which was being replaced by a forward arrow. ➡️

🕘 Attendance

  • A new formula field—PaidBreakHours—is now available when configuring Daily Attendance rewards. This allows admins to include paid break time in allowance calculations.

    • The field is exclusive to Daily Attendance rewards, clearly documented in the formula help section, and fully validated during setup.

  • We've enhanced our Attendance API—GetScheduledShiftDetails—to support retrieving detailed shift timings across a date range, rather than just one day at a time, boosting performance and efficiency significantly. 🏃


🛠️ Fixes and Improvements

  • The Daily Manning Report has had a tidy-up: 💖

    • Durations now show in decimals (not clock times), making them easier to read and work with in Excel.

    • Dates are now clearly formatted as DD/MM/YYYY, so no more cryptic codes.

    • Each tab includes a total row for a quick overview of daily hours.

    • Exports will start retaining all formatting for a cleaner printout.

    • A timing discrepancy that was showing up when grouping by cost centers has been addressed.

  • In the Target Attendance Profiles screen, the delete button for each interval now responds on the first click, as expected.

  • The Scheduler has been optimised to prevent freezing ❄️ when inputting shifts.

    • Previously, loading all shift presets at once caused performance issues for tenants with large datasets.

    • Indigo now limits the lookup to 50 results. If the shift you're looking for isn’t listed, a refined search with a more specific description of what you need ought to get you the results you need. 💪

🗄️ Task Management

  • A new Tied-to Date column has been added to the Templates grid to help users quickly assess whether a template is still relevant.

    • The column is hidden by default and supports sorting, filtering, and search, and shows “None” if no date is set.


🛠️ Fixes and Improvements

  • The Edit ✏️ button for pay items in the Approval System (in Expense > Settings) is functioning as expected.

  • The Tax code length limit has been extended to more than 15 characters.

  • The audit log 📜 in Employee Position History now reliably captures updates to the Remark field, both in the on-screen grid and the generated PDF report.

  • In Skills and Training:

    • Editing an existing Training or Certification and changing its name appeared to save, but the update didn’t reflect in the employee’s record. This has now been addressed:

      • The name field is disabled during edits to prevent incorrect changes.

      • All other fields—like credits, hours, and costs—remain editable and save correctly.

    • 📋 Note: To change the certification name or awarding body, you should delete the existing entry and assign a new one. This can be done by any user with the necessary permissions.

  • Meanwhile, over in Task Management:

    • Creating tasks just got smoother. 🏎️ Previously, checkbox settings like 'Show notes to assignee' and 'Include notes in email notification' were being remembered across employees during the same session due to a caching issue. These options now reset to their default state with each new task, ensuring a clean and consistent experience every time.

    • Tasks and their folders are now behaving more as expected:

      • When a new task is created, attached files are saved directly into the correct folder, not the general destination.

      • Deleting a task also removes its folder, keeping things tidy.

      • Renaming folders manually may still break the link between tasks and their folders; if that happens, the system will create a new folder on the next upload.

    • Thanks to some backend improvements and validation checks, task templates will now load more reliably, particularly when some assignee data is missing.

    • Inactive task templates are now correctly filtered. 🔍

📱 Mobile App

🤖 Android v3.3.10 is now live! 🚀

🛠️ Fixes and Improvements

  • When applying for leave, the confirmation screen now shows both hours and minutes, making time tracking more accurate and reducing confusion.

  • Tapping Apply for Leave multiple times will now only submit a single request, preventing duplicates.

  • Inactive projects will no longer appear in the project selection list when clocking in.

  • The sudden, constant refreshes on the home screen? Solved. 🤩

💸 Payroll & Leave

⚠️ Note: We have updated all BOV SEPA File formats to the new v9 Format. This is linked to the change we had announced earlier this year. Learn more!

  • Ever squinted 👀 at a payroll report wondering which of your company’s two Ġanni Borgs you’re actually looking at? Not to worry, the Payroll Detailed Report now includes a new I.D no. column, making it easier to match employee records with official identification, especially helpful when dealing with similar names, aliases, or nicknames.

    • As always, sensitive data continues to be handled securely, 🔒 taken directly from your company's Indigo profile.

  • A new option—Pro-rata and Public Holiday—has been added to two dropdown menus in the Leave Types screen:

    1. The Ent. with new employment dropdown, under Entitlement.

      • When picked, public holiday leave entitlement is calculated fairly for new employees by excluding weekend public holidays that occurred before their start date.

      • The system applies this automatically on save and via the magic wand button, with full visibility in the audit log.

    2. The Pay off on term. dropdown, under Pay off.

      • When this is selected and an employee gets terminated, their leave payoff only includes public holidays that fall within their actual employment period, rather than granting the full year’s entitlement.
