1.211.0.0 | New! Leave approvals on the go in Indigo Mobile + improved accessibility and a redesigned leave screen; stronger password rules in Hiring; simplified, more focused payroll reporting, and more

Written by Matthew Calleja

Hello Indigo users,

If you were hoping for a more powerful mobile app from Santa, 🎅 then good news! Christmas came early with this update’s feature spotlight: Leave Approvals in Indigo Mobile. Approve or decline leave on the go, anytime, anywhere. Just watch out for puddles if you're doing that stuff on your way home! 🏠

We’ve also rolled out other enhancements across our modules. In Hiring, stronger password rules and deeper session security features keep your recruitment process safer. 🔒 In HR, a smarter method for creating occupation categories improves efficiency in the Job Evaluation Tool.

🌟 Feature Spotlight 🌟

📱 Approve and Decline Leave from Your Phone

Ever been halfway out of the office when someone asks, “Did you approve my leave, bud?” Do you power everything back up or wait until the following day? 🏃

Now you don’t have to choose! With the Indigo Mobile App, approvers can view, approve, or decline leave requests from their phone. Anytime, anywhere!

Highlights:

  • 🔍 Filter, sort, and group requests.

  • 👍 Approve or decline in bulk.

  • 💥 Check overlaps and approval chains.

  • 📜 See full request details.

💻 Platform

  • In a number of our screens, we updated our calendar to display days from Monday to Sunday instead of Sunday to Monday, improving consistency across the platform.

🕘 Attendance

🛠️ Fixes and Improvements

  • The Daily Manning Report had some leave-type shifts (Vacation and Sick) incorrectly showing an extra 15 minutes. Now reported hours are matching the actual scheduled time.

🏢 Hiring

  • Password strength and session security have levelled up 💪 with stricter controls:

    • Minimum 12 characters with mixed types.

    • 90-day expiry.

    • Password history.

    • Account lockout after 5 failed attempts.

    • Automatic logout after 60 minutes of inactivity.

  • Auditing for CV downloads in Indigo Hiring has been added, ensuring that bulk and individual downloads are logged and restricted based on user permissions, strengthening compliance and data security.

🛠️ Fixes and Improvements

  • The wording of “Schedule call” has changed to “Schedule an interview” for clearer, more professional communication.

👨🏻‍💼 HR

  • The Job Evaluation Tool (JET) has now fully embraced the interval-based method for creating Occupation Categories, replacing the older manual process. This change:

    • Removes a slower, more error-prone approach.

    • Ensures that category creation is faster (without the use of AI, just a smarter data-input method).

    • More consistent and aligned with what you need for more solid compliance with the EU Pay Transparency Directive (Directive (EU) 2023/970).

🛠️ Fixes and Improvements

  • Profile pictures weren’t always saving correctly in HR > Employees, which is quite bizarre since Indigo loves all pictures of your face. They are now saving as expected now, so send HR your best pic! 🤳

📱 Mobile App

Android and iOS v4.0.0 is now live! 🚀

  • 🤖 🍎 Android & iOS:

    • Leave Approvals (check out the 🌟 spotlight 🌟)

    • Full Accessibility: Text zoom and voice-over support for visually impaired users.

🛠️ Fixes and Improvements

  • 🤖 🍎 Android & iOS:

    • Leave Screen Redesign: A cleaner, more intuitive interface for a better mobile experience.

💸 Payroll & Leave

  • A new Custom Reduced Payroll report option has been introduce in Indigo’s Payroll Reports screen to provide a simplified version of the Detailed Payroll Report, showing only columns relevant to gross pay, reducing clutter and manual filtering for payroll administrators, finance managers, and HR users.

  • We updated the Employee Position History grid in the Payroll module to display the Reporting To employee name by default.

  • The Excel exports for Leave Situation and Leave History reports have also been updated to hide personal details (Mobile, Telephone, Address, Date of Birth) for non-payroll users, ensuring compliance with role-based access control and protecting sensitive employee data. 🔒

🛠️ Fixes and Improvements

  • A discrepancy where the FSS Report showed incorrect tax deduction values has been addressed to display consistent and accurate tax information. Huzzah! 🥳

  • The logic in the Position History process has been corrected so that when saving organisation chart changes across companies, the system now inserts missing sequence numbers properly, preventing errors caused by inconsistent database setup.

🏆 Performance Management

🛠️ Fixes and Improvements

  • We've changed the employee icon from a chef symbol to a more neutral ‘user helmet’ icon across the module, to avoid role-based confusion and ensure a consistent, inclusive representation of employees.

  • Deleting an answer in a short or long question type using backspace caused the first few letters to reappear after clicking outside the field. That was super annoying, so it won't happen anymore. 👍
