Overview
The Employees screen in the Job Evaluation Tool (JET) provides consolidated view of employee remuneration for a selected calendar year. It includes all employees who were active during that year, allowing you to review workforce remuneration data in one clear, transparent and centralised view.
Its main purpose is to compare each employee’s projected full-time equivalent (FTE) annual remuneration against the average remuneration for their occupation category. Built for HR and finance teams, the screen supports pay reviews and reporting by helping identify potential pay gaps and ensuring remuneration practices remain fair and aligned with the EU Pay Transparency Directive.

JET uses a set of standard formulae to calculate and present clear, reliable numbers you can confidently rely on for decision-making and audit preparedness. 💪 These numbers are supported by data from your payroll setups and employment scenarios, such as hires, terminations, occupation changes, part-time work, unpaid leave, and non-monthly payrolls.
Prior Setup
The Employees screen works a bit like a report, displaying data based on what company information you have set up in Indigo and what actions you've taken in JET.
For the best results, make sure that:
✅ Employee records are complete and accurate.
✅ All occupations are created with clear 'further' descriptions.
✅ Each employee is assigned to an occupation.
✅ Pay components (basic pay, variable pay, and benefits) are set up.
✅ You have followed the JET process:
Having created an evaluation profile (complete with criteria) and;
Fully evaluated all occupations.

Screen Details and Data
Generating the Employees Grid
To display data on the Employees screen:
In Indigo, go to HR > Job Evaluation Tool > Employees.
Under the word Employees, select the To date. The From date will automatically adjust to the start of your chosen date year.
⚠️ If you select a period where no payrolls have been issued, the screen will show a No data tag. Other missing information can also cause this.
Click the blue Generate report button.
Once generated, the screen will be populated with a table containing all relevant data. Below is an example of a report generated using well-documented, comprehensive data.
Grid Columns
In this grid, each row represents one of the company's employees. The following columns are displayed by default:
Employee Code: the unique identifier assigned to each employee.
Full Name
Gender
Occupation
Years in Role
Base Salary:💡a detailed computation for an employee's base salary can be displayed by clicking that employee's row and hovering over their base salary number.
Complementary Perks: additional fixed pay elements, such as recurring adjustments and other payroll-linked benefits.
Variable Pay: payments that vary (e.g. bonuses), annualised if the report does not cover a full year.
Total Remuneration: the sum of base salary, complementary perks, and variable pay.
Score: the occupation’s evaluation score, reflecting its value based on the company's job evaluation profile and criteria in JET.
Category: the occupation category assigned based on the employee's occupation’s score.
Average Remuneration (All Genders): the average total remuneration of employees within the same occupation category.
Diff in € (all genders): the difference between the employee’s total remuneration and the category average.
Diff in (%) (all genders): the percentage variance between the employee’s total remuneration and the category average.
💡All variance columns in this grid use colour-shaded boxes to show whether remuneration is above or below the category average, and by how much it differs.
Notes: an action column used to view and add notes, such as to document reasons for significant pay differences.
⚙️ Data sourcing: You can choose where JET pulls certain data for this grid; specifically your employees’ base salary and occupations. Select your preferred source (Payroll History or Position History) in HR > Job Evaluation Tool > Settings.
💡 Don't forget to click Save!
