Written by Matthew Calleja

Hello Indigo users,

New month, new leaf! 🍂 We're turning over a fresh one with two new feature spotlights, each introducing a new setting to help you set up 😉 the ideal working environment for your organisation's workflows and processes.

  1. Manager Can View Employee Self-Appraisal: Allows performance managers to review submitted self-appraisals before submitting their own.

  2. Geo-Accuracy Validation: Gives greater control over GPS accuracy as far as clockings are concerned.

Elsewhere, we've got a new Time Tracking report, the rest of Indigo Mobile v. 4.5.0, some handy SEPA / ISO 20022 payroll enhancements, and a fresh batch of improvements across Attendance, HR and Payroll & Leave.

Dive in below! ⬇️

🌟 Feature Spotlights 🌟

📑 Preview Before you Review in Performance Management

Ever reviewed an employee's performance only to discover that they highlighted an achievement, project, or challenge you hadn't considered?

Our new Manager Can View Employee Self-Appraisal setting can help!

With this new option in Performance Management > Settings, Admins can now grant managers access to employees' submitted self-appraisals before publishing their own evaluations. This can help managers refresh their perspective, leading to a more complete evaluation minus any recency biases.

Not the way you roll? 🛞 No problem! The review process you already know, where both evaluations remain hidden until both have been published, isn't going anywhere and remains the default. If you enable the setting above and later change your mind, simply switch on Mutual Blind Review from the same settings page to return to default.

🧑🏻‍🚀 A Small Step for GPS, a Giant Leap for Clockings

Are inaccurate GPS readings leaving you and your employees lost, with clockings getting rejected when they shouldn't have been? 🛰️

Say 'Hello!' to Geo-Accuracy Validation for Clockings, a new setting that lets you define an acceptable GPS area in metres to help improve the quality of location data captured through Indigo Mobile App clockings.

Available in Indigo > Settings > Attendance > Clockings, the feature uses a default value of 50 m and lets organisations choose a lower threshold for stricter validation—at the risk of more rejections—or a higher value for environments where precise GPS coverage is less reliable.

Geo-Accuracy requires our Mandatory Location Capture setting to be enabled and works independently of Geo-Fencing.

🕘 Attendance

  • A new Time Tracking report brings all project-related time together for easier reconciliation, allowing you to view not only standard attendance but also any overtime worked against each project for a more complete picture. 🖼️

  • You can now view Projects and Project ID columns on the Presence screen to see the projects associated with clockings and shifts.

🛠️ Fixes and Improvements

  • Allocation rewards now take the configured clocking conditions into account when processing eligible entries.

  • The Attendance Reconciliation Report now shows leave hours from individual daily entries for each day of a multi-day absence.

👨🏻‍💼 HR

  • How about that autumnal tidy-up? 🍂 A bushel of refinements is out across Document Manager, Skills & Training and Task Management, including:

    • Clearer wording, notifications and assignment feedback, like simplified labels and improved confirmation messages for changes affecting existing assignees.

    • More consistent layouts with refined toolbar styling, spacing, alignment and dropdown menu widths.

    • Simpler document organisation thanks to streamlined toolbar actions around Download, better folder collapsing and polished new tag names.

    • Tidier task templates, with long notes contained properly within the editor and fully visible task type dropdown options.

  • Attachments in Leave, Expense and Tasks now support the same file types as Document Manager, including JFIF, HEIC, WebP and ZIP.

🛠️ Fixes and Improvements

Some other improvements have been released across the board.

  • Starting with Document Manager:

    • HEIC and WebP files are now accepted, and users will be provided with a notification when an upload cannot be completed or uses an unsupported format.

    • A three-dot menu now provides access to document actions in My Team, All Employees and Personal without needing to right-click.

    • You can now use Move To to move several selected files at once in Personal folders.

    • The colour selector in Tag Details is now read-only in View mode.

    • Clicking outside Edit Tag now keeps the window open.

  • Meanwhile, in Skills & Training:

    • Selecting training or certification from All Employees now fills in the Credits, Company Cost and Level fields automatically.

    • Your selected training/certification name is now retained when you need to address a validation message before submitting.

    • You’re now prompted to confirm before closing a window by clicking outside it when you have unsaved changes.

    • Choosing 'No' when asked to confirm cancellation now lets you continue editing and save your skill assignments.

  • Over in Task Management:

    • The Employee column now supports ends with, equal to and not equal to filters for employee names and codes.

    • You can now create task templates that include Nationality criteria.

  • And don't forget Expense Management:

    • Action icons in Overtime/Expense requests now show explanatory tooltips when you hover over them.

    • When creating an expense reason, you’re now prompted to confirm before closing the window by clicking outside it if you have unsaved information.

  • The Actions button in Employee Directory is now shown only to users with both HR employee permissions and the Payroll User role.

📱 Mobile App

Android and iOS v4.5.0 are now live! 🚀

🛠️ Fixes and Improvements

  • 🤖 🍎 Android & iOS:

    • Clockings are now deleted when latitude or longitude values are missing and the request is rejected by the server.

    • Search and sorting are now disabled while Corporate Documents are loading to prevent loading issues.

  • 🤖 Android:

    • The app version is now displayed at the bottom of the More screen.

    • Implemented Google Play recommendations for edge-to-edge support and asset optimisation.

    • The project name is now always visible in the clockings list.

    • Updated iconography across document-related screens.

    • Clock-ins will no longer be occasionally sent as clock-outs, ensuring all clockings are paired appropriately.

    • Bottom tab icons were not always staying selected when navigating between screens. We've told them off and they will now behave as intended. 👼

  • 🍎 iOS:

    • Restoring forgotten passwords, biometric sign-ins, clocking edits and the 'Slide to Clock In' animation all flow more smoothly now. 🌊

    • Improved the behaviour of the clocking icon when a clocking validation message is displayed.

    • Enhanced support for clockings across different time zones.

💸 Payroll & Leave

  • As part of our ongoing work to support 2026 SEPA/ISO 20022 compliance requirements, we've added new file formats for Citibank and the Central Bank of Malta as requested for bank testing.

  • For organisations with an HR-only licence, payroll-specific fields and menus are no longer displayed, and the Payroll and Leave tab is labelled Leave.

🛠️ Fixes and Improvements

  • Updating licences no longer disables the Enable Earned Leave checkbox from the Leave Settings.

  • Payslip email links opened from Outlook on iOS can be viewed in Safari without displaying an error.

  • When manually entering values in fields with selectable options, the system only accepts entries that match an existing available option, preventing unsupported values from being saved.

  • Payroll calculations for terminated hourly employees now support scenarios where no leave entitlement applies, allowing final calculations to be completed successfully.

  • The Leave Situation Report correctly aligns Total Taken values with recorded leave.

🏆 Performance Management

  • We’ve refreshed the Performance Management settings layout and renamed Review to Reviews in the side menu.
