Overview

Your time is valuable. That's why we have engineered our platform to automatically create Indigo users for your employees, and then link them to their respective Microsoft Entra ID user.

For example, when new talent joins your workforce, and their user is created and added to the dedicated security group within your Microsoft Entra ID tenant, they can simply log in to Indigo using the Microsoft button.

The system will then automatically generate a new Indigo user for the employee, significantly streamlining the process for you as an IT Admin.

When should I manually perform these processes?

There are instances where more direct oversight, guided by human intuition, may be required. In such cases, while configuring Indigo SSO you might find it necessary to manually create and link your employees' Indigo users.

Typically, you'll only need to add and map new users manually in two scenarios:

  • when you have multiple companies registered on your Indigo Tenant, which affects the user mapping process;

  • when the employee's user account on Indigo is already set up with the required permissions and information.

Both adding and mapping users manually happens through Indigo, from Administration > Main > Users.

Creating and linking new Indigo users

  1. Navigate to Indigo, then go to Administration > Main > Users.

  2. Create the new employee's Indigo User by clicking the + Insert button and filling in the details.

  3. Finish the process by clicking Save.

  4. Find the new user in the grid and click on them once.

  5. Click the Azure Tenant User Link button.

  6. In 'Tenant Username', insert the employee's Microsoft Entra ID username (e.g. JohnSmith@yourdomain.com).

  7. Click Save.

If the username you entered is incorrect, you'll receive an error message tailored to the type of mistake found in the input.

This error could indicate that the domain was not found or that the user does not exist. The specific error will be highlighted, such as in the image below, and described in more detail under its respective entry in the troubleshooting error list.

Kindly revise the username, or add the user into your Microsoft Entra ID security group if it is missing.

Linking an Indigo user to a different Company

You may need to link an existing Indigo user to a different company (changing from company A to B), or to an additional one (keeping company A and adding company B). This can be done manually.

This action will alter the user's company access in Indigo universally, rather than solely for the SSO login purpose.

  1. Go to Administration > Main > Users.

  2. Find the required employee(s) in the grid.

  3. Double-click on their entry to access their individual Users screen.

  4. Click Edit (✐).

  5. Update the user's companies by ticking or unticking the boxes in the User Companies box accordingly. Note: users can be linked to several companies, but can't be left unlinked.

  6. Click Save (βœ“).
