Overview

Did you know that Shireburn has a handy status page? Just a click away, you can:

  • πŸ” Track the status of all features and services in Shireburn Software's Indigo Suite.

  • πŸ“© Sign up for timely updates on upcoming maintenance windows.

  • πŸ“£ Report any issues directly to us.

Keep reading to learn more about tracking the status of our key features. To learn how to sign up or get in touch with us, click here.

πŸ“ Note: Both the Indigo Platform and Help Centre offer a compact version of the status page to users with the Payroll role, which functions and displays the same data as the browser version. You should read this entire article to learn how both versions work, but check out the final section for info specific to the compact version

Track Status

Our status page is designed to make tracking the health of Indigo Suite and its related services as easy as pie. πŸ₯§ With interactive visuals and intuitive features, you can get all the information you need with just a click or a mouse-over. πŸ–±οΈ

All Systems Operational! βœ…

At the top of the page is an interactive display of the suite's five primary systems.

The systems on display are:

  1. Indigo Application

  2. Indigo Public API

  3. Microsoft Azure: responsible for hosting the Indigo application and its dependencies. Click to check on its subdivisions:

    1. Databases

    2. Application Servers

    3. Storage Account

    4. Service Bus

    5. Indigo Workers

  4. Billing: responsible for renewals and payments.
Click to check on its subdivisions:

    1. Billing API

    2. Billing Webhooks

  5. Emails: responsible for all outgoing emails.
Click the button between the Emails header and the tooltip (ℹ️) hover for more details on the SendGrid status page.

The first four systems display a graph divided into 30 sections, each representing a day in a 30-day span from today to 30 days ago. Each section is colour-coded to indicate the service's status:

  • Red signifies major outages.

  • Yellow shows degraded performance.

  • Green means Go! πŸ‡πŸ» Or, simply, no issues.

  • Light grey displays scheduled maintenance.

  • Dark grey represents future days, such as when looking at data across time periods beyond the default 30-day range.

Hovering over any section will provide a detailed overview of the service's performance for that day.

πŸ“ Note: Should a major outage or a drop in performance be associated with a Notice, it will be highlighted in this overview, shown in the screenshot above with the message 'Indigo Application isn't accessible at the moment (automated).' To investigate further, click the message.

Viewing Past Performance

To view a service's performance beyond the initial 30-day range, click the grey < 30 DAYS AGO button below the service's graph on the left.

This will expand the graphs of all four services to display a three-month period, including any future days in the current month. The graph will maintain the same colour-coding logic, and you can hover over any section for detailed information on that day’s performance.

To navigate further back in time, click the arrow on the bottom left. To move closer to the present day, use the arrow on the bottom right.

System Metrics

Under the System Metrics section, you will find a line chart illustrating the Indigo Average Response Time. This refers to ping, also known as latency, which is expressed in milliseconds (ms) and indicates the duration for a small packet of data to travel from your device to our Internet server and back to your device.

Next to the System Metrics header, there's a toggle that allows you to switch the chart's view between day, week, or month.

The average ping is recorded over periods lasting 15 minutes. The overall ping average of the current view (day / week / month) is displayed on the top right of the graph.

Hovering over the chart with your cursor will display the ping at the designated time respective to where your cursor is.

Missing Metrics Chart

Can't seem to find this chart? You may be looking at a version of the status page showing data older than 30 days ago. You can confirm this by looking at the URL. If it ends in '.com/history/[number]', you are looking at older data.

To view the System Metrics chart, revert to the status page's default view using one of the following methods:

  • Change the URL to https://status.shireburn.com/
    or;

  • Click on any of the arrows on the right until they all disappear. This occurs after clicking on one of them enough times to return to the present 30-day span.

Recent Notices

In the context of the status page, Notices are documented issues that are set to automatically appear in this section in the event of the following:

  • major outages

  • periods of degraded performance

  • scheduled maintenance

Notices listed in this section are documented to provide useful information, such as:

  • which of our services are or were affected (including specifics), and how.

  • the current state of the issue whether ongoing, under investigation, or resolved.

  • the dates and times of significant events that occurred during the ongoing situation, including when the issue was resolved.

Notice History

To view notices from more than seven days ago, click on Show notice history. Navigate further into the past or closer to the present using the left or right arrows at the bottom, respectively.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Prefer Dark Mode? πŸ¦‡ Scroll to the bottom of the status page and click the sun symbol to switch to the dark side. Click it again to revert back.

The Streamlined Version

For users assigned the Payroll role, Indigo offers a streamlined view of the status page, accessible via the Support Chat buttons located at the bottom right corner of both the platform itself and the Help Centre.

Both display the same interface, which works the same as the full version described above.

To check our status from the streamlined view:

  1. Click either support chat button.

  2. Click the status card right under the header text. For reference, this typically displays a green check mark βœ… and the words 'Status: All systems operational'.

The status of the Suite's five primary services can be found at the top, with the same interactive display as the one available in the full version of the status page.

Scrolling down, you'll also find:

  • System Metrics, including a chart and view options.

  • Recent Notices, displayed in a list and including two buttons to view notice history.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Dark Mode πŸ¦‡ is also available for this view, accessible from the menu in the top right corner.
