Hello Indigo users,

The ability to enforce seamless SSO Logins across any of your domains is just one of the enhancements in this milestone 🏆 update to our Indigo SSO feature.

HR's Performance Management has received some new buttons, allowing managers and HR to nudge 👉 employees and managers with pending appraisals, directly from the Reviews grid.

Meanwhile, in Attendance, A new setting has been added to let you decide whether overlapping shifts can be imported.

All of this and more down below. ⬇️

Platform

  • A number of major changes (both functional ⚙️ and aesthetic 🖼️ ) have recently hit our Single Sign-on (SSO) feature, which in turn has led to some modifications to the documentation.

  • Enforce SSO:

    • In some ways an enhancement in its own right, IT admins now have the ability to Enforce SSO, forcing all users within a domain to exclusively use SSO to log in to Indigo. You may opt to do this because it enhances security and streamlines your management capabilities of users and log ins.

    • This setting is configured per Identity Provider (IdP) from the desired IdP's respective card in Administration > Main > Identity Providers.

    • It is set to off by default.

    • A related FAQ and Troubleshooting Error have been documented.

  • Integrating Microsoft Entra ID: App registration

    • The initial phase of setting up Indigo SSO includes App Registration, where you generate a client secret that eventually expires. From now on, background checks will let you know if the client secret you're inserting into Indigo is expired.

    • You can update expired client secrets via the Kebab Menu in the top right of the required IdP's card, which can be found in Administration > Main > Identity Providers.

  • Setting up Indigo SSO: IdP Setup and Provisioning / User Mapping

    • The TXT record is now more readily available after proceeding from the screen with the blue box, included in the screen with the 🚀 gif.

    • In case this screen is closed prematurely, the verification process can be restarted from Administration > Main > Identity via a new lilac refresh button ↪️ on the bottom left of IdP cards with unverified domains.

    • A new TXT record will be generated if the domain name has been changed since the first verification attempt.

    • The yellow button for initiating User Mapping has metamorphosised 🦋 and relocated. On the required IdP's card in Administration > Main > Identity Providers, click the three-dotted Kebab Menu button in the top right corner, followed by User Provisioning.

    • In addition to numerous informative tags for users at various stages of provisioning, a search bar 🔍 and multiple filter options have been added to the Link Users grid (top right).

    • At the end of the Provisioning process, Indigo continues to support you 💪 in the background. From now on, it will diligently check for any employees—such as those created by HR—with a username matching the user's personal or work email and automatically link them.

    • Upon a user logging in to Indigo, the system will start conducting an additional check to detect any changes to the employee's Microsoft Entra ID details—like surname changes due to marriage. 💍 Indigo will then automatically update the user's profile to match the new Microsoft Entra ID data.

    • A new error has been included as a catch-all measure during the User Mapping process. Because of the efficient way Indigo has been designed to immediately connect new employees with their corresponding local users as soon as they are identified, it's highly unlikely you'll encounter this error.

💡Tip: New to SSO? Check out our introductory documentation to acquaint yourself with the full benefits of the feature. We've also deployed the following landing page for interested but unsubscribed users and admins attempting to log in via SSO:

Attendance Enhancements

Scheduler

  • The new setting Allow import of overlapping shifts has been added to Settings > Attendance > Leave Import. This setting determines whether overlapping shifts can be imported. When ticked, overlapping shifts will be imported. When unticked (default), they won't be.

Attendance Fixes and Improvements

Scheduler

  • The correct name is showing when a shift is opened via the three-dot kebab menu button.

Payroll & Leave Fixes and Improvements

  • Company Costs calculations are getting their maths straight, taking into account which Pay Items are positive and negative and adding ➕ or subtracting ➖ them accordingly.

  • For the sake of precision and consistency with calculations, the Leave Accruals report will ignore employees' Original Employment Date (if any) in favour of the real Employment Date.

  • Indigo will not skip an employee's leave authoriser simply because they are listed as Working Remotely.

Performance Management Enhancements

  • Monitor the ebb and flow of Performance Management by tracking 🔎 published reviews, state changes, and nudges, all diligently audited in Administration > Main > Audit Log.

  • New nudge 👉 buttons have been added to the Reviews section grid. Clicking them will nudge both the employee and manager if they both have their appraisal in draft status. If only one does, only that person will be nudged.

    • A confirmation modal will appear before the nudge, allowing you to cancel or proceed.

  • An email 📩 will be sent to review participants when someone submits their side of the appraisal. Furthermore, a setting called Enable Review Deadline Email has been added to Settings > HR > Employee Settings.

Performance Management Fixes and Improvements

  • The Create a Question window is displaying fully and in all of its glory, without getting truncated. ✂️
