The punches exceptions report gathers attendance exceptions, such as missing time in or out, and breaks them down by employee. The report gives the employee name and code, the data of the attendance exception, the reason, and the total number of exceptions for a date range which you select.

To generate a punches exceptions report:

  1. In the left sidebar of Indigo, click Time and Attendance.
  2. In the Reports sections, click Punches exceptions report.
  3. Select dates for the report under Options.
  4. Select additional options under Groupings, Options, and Template.
  5. Click the Generate PDF button to generate the report.

The generated punches exceptions report will open in a new tab on your web browser.

To include only specific employees in your report, click the boxes next to the employees’ names.

You can create a punches exceptions report in three additional file types. Hover your mouse over the arrow near the Generate PDF button to: 

  • Generate Report Viewer (generate and view the report in an online viewer).
  • Generate Merged (generate and view the report in an online viewer merged into a single, contiguous document).
  • Generate Data Only As Excel (generate the report with data as an Excel sheet). 

Send punches exceptions reports in an e-mail

To send a PDF version of the report in an e-mail:

  1. In the left sidebar of Indigo, click Time and Attendance.
  2. In the Reports sections, click Punches exceptions report.
  3. Select dates for the report under Options.
  4. Optionally select to create groups in the report under Grouping.
  5. Click Send Report in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
  6. Fill in details of the e-mail, and then click Send Report.

If you want Indigo to remember the settings for this report for future uses, check the Remember generated report settings at the bottom of the report setup panel.
