Introduction

In this article, we will cover the essential actions and activities related to the G3 Pro clocking device. It will also help you navigate the main options, manage users imported from Device Manager, and record their biometrics efficiently.

Accessing the Main Menu

The Main Menu gives you access to the list of Users created on Device Manager and pushed to the device, and also help you check the device connection settings. Follow the steps below to access the Main Menu.

  1. Tap on the Menu button on the initial interface and enter your User ID (this is automatically generated on Device Manager and given to you by your administrator).

  2. Select the biometric type you want to use (Passcode, Fingerprint, Face, or Palm).

    🤔 Remember

When the device is installed at your premises, it might be in unlocked mode, which means that anyone can access to its settings freely.
Thus it is extremely important for your designated Device Administrator to access the device for the first time and record their biometrics right away, to avoid any tampering.

  3. After logging in, you will be taken to the Main Menu.

Communication Settings Sub-Menu

To access the Device Ethernet Settings, proceed as follows:

  1. After logging in to the Main Menu, select the third icon labelled COMM.

  2. In the following sub-menu, select Ethernet.

  3. The Ethernet profile will open, from which you can edit the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS, and TCP COMM. Port.

💡 Tip

We recommend keeping the DHCP switched off and assigning the device a static IP address.

User Management Sub-Menu

To check that the users have been pushed from Device Manager to the clocking device:

  1. Press the User Mgt. icon on the top-left of the Main Menu.

  2. User Mgt. gives you three options: New User, All Users, and Display Style.

  3. Select All Users to check the details of all the users synced on the device.

🧠 Important Tip

We highly recommend creating new users from Device Manager, as the data will be automatically synchronised with all the devices. More on how to create a new user 👉 here, or import an Employee 👉 here.

Enrolling an Employee's Biometrics

Navigate to User Mgt. > All Users to manage and record biometrics for your Users.

  1. In All Users, select the employee whose biometrics you wish to enrol and you will be prompted with Edit and Delete options.

    ⚠️ Caution

Avoid using the Delete function on your devices. Make sure to make any amendments or deletions from Device Manager as you will have a clearer overview of the user's details and their recorded biometrics.

  2. Press Edit to access the employee's settings. Here you will be able to make changes to the user's role (normally this is done from Device Manager), as well as enrol face and palmprint biometrics, or set a passcode.

    1. Enrolling a User's Palmprint Biometrics

      1. Select Palm.

      2. Hold up your hand, palm facing the device, and follow the instructions on the display screen.

    2. Enrolling a User's Facial Biometrics:

      1. In the Edit User menu, select Face.

      2. Look at the device, making sure to follow the instructions on the screen.
