Introduction
Once you create your Work Zones and Devices in their respective sections, it's time to start dealing with your Attendance users from Device Manager's My Users section.
The screen offers a set of options on its platter 🍱, which will allow you to manage and configure your employees in Device Manager. This way you will have their data and biometrics aligned with your physical devices.
The Grid and its Functions
First, you need to import the Attendance users via the Import Employees button. Once done, the list of the imported users will show in a grid. The users listed are either ones you or someone else imported (depending on permissions and filters). No matter what your permissions may be, you'll still be able to see every imported user in this grid.
In this grid, you'll be able to consult a set of Users related details, such as their Device User Id, their Full Name, the Company they belong to along with their Employee Code (in Indigo), their Device Role ('User' or 'Admin'), the Department they work for, the No. of Work Zones they are linked to, and which Biometrics are recorded for them. When scrolling to the right, you will also be able to see the Users' Start and Termination Dates.
💡 Tips
If you create a user in Device Manager via the Create User button before a matching employee has been created in Indigo, both Company and Employee Code fields will show as 'Not Linked'. Click on the Modify Employee Links to fix this.
Device Roles ('User' and 'Admin') are different from Indigo Roles. The Admin can clock in and out and access the Device Settings ('User Mgt.') on the device itself, while the user can only clock in and out.
Start Date: the date the employee will start working for the company. It is necessary for the 'Send Users to Device Before Employment Start' setting in the Settings section.

Activate: sets a user as Active, so they'll be able to clock in or out.
Deactivate: when you need to temporarily prevent a person from accessing your facilities without deleting their biometrics, tick the required user and click this button.
Delete User: fully deletes any selected users, along with their biometrics.
Delete Biometrics: select to filter the biometrics you want to delete for the ticked users in the grid. If you select 'All', all the existing biometrics for the users you tick from the list will be deleted.
Export Device Users: export the current view of the users grid. An Excel file will be automatically downloaded showing data based on the applied filters and selected columns.
Note: only users with access to view the 'My Users' section can see and use the Export Device Users button.
⚠️ Important
There are two face-related biometrics: Face ID (BioData) and BioPhoto.
Face ID works with all devices that have a face scanner.
BioPhoto only works with Speedface and Pro Face X devices and is captured together with Face ID on those devices.
👉 If you delete the Face ID, you may lose compatibility across different device models. So, it's strongly recommended to keep the Face ID recorded in Device Manager, even if you also have the BioPhoto.

Import Employees 📄: import existing Indigo Attendance Employees as Users in Device Manager. Once you click on it, you will only see and import those people you have the rights to work with (depending on your assigned permissions and filters).
To learn how to properly import Users to My Users, refer to this article.Modify Employee Links 👤🔗: there are instances where devices already containing Users are owned, but Device Manager has never been used; or Users had manually been created (➕ Create Users button) before actual Employees were generated on Indigo. Those Users will result as 'Not Linked' in Device Manager, whenever they are manually created or pushed from the device.
To correct this, create the future matching Employee in Indigo and then use the Modify Employee Links button.
Once selected, all the Users not linked to an Employee will show in the 'Link Device Users' window, or you can individually look for them using the Search box on the top right. Now, you can look for the newly created Employee to link to the Device User by typing the name in the Employee Look-up box.
The 🎇 Auto Match button is also available on the bottom left corner, to help you speed up the process, as it automatically looks for a possible matching Employee.
Once an employee is selected, the bottom right No User Modified button will change to Link User. Click it, then decide whether to import the Device User's pending clocking activities too, to finalise the process.
Refresh 🔄: refreshes the Imported Employee list after performing any action.
Filter: enables the grid's column filters.
Search box 🔍: look for a specific imported user in the list.

Import pending clockings 🕓: greyed out by default. Once you tick a checkbox from the grid, it shows in blue. By clicking on it, you would import all the pending clockings for those users that have not yet been pushed into Indigo for some reason (e.g. Network issue). This setting has the same purpose as and similar behaviour to the 'Import Clockings' function in My Devices.
Create Users ➕: if your newcomers start when the HR is not available to create an Indigo employee to import into Device Manager, you can manually create Device Users for them so that they can be sent to the devices allowing people to clock in or out. A password can be generated to be used to record clockings.
🗒️ Note
📌 Do not forget to link an Employee to the Device User as soon as possible.
📌 If you do not link the newly created users to at least a Work Zone, they won't be automatically pushed into the devices.
Attach: used when you need to attach multiple users to the same Work Zones after ticking them from the grid.
Update Card/Password: update the user's card number, password or both. Note that creating a new card or password will replace and delete any existing one. The change will be reflected to all the devices and work zones the user is linked to.
Additional Info and Biometric Data
Select a Device User from the above-mentioned grid and scroll to the Additional Info section to consult the User's details.
Let's take Lita's example in the image below; as you can see her Name, Employee Code, and Work Email are displayed along with her Device Role, the Company she belongs to, her Doc. Number, Device User id, and her Date of Birth.
You can also toggle on the Is Admin button if you want her to be a Device Admin. More on this topic here.
Under Lita's profile picture is the Modify Work Zones button, which does exactly what its name says. Right below it, we'll find the Biometric Data grid showing the recorded biometric types for that specific Device user. In Lita's case we have the 'Password' and the 'Face Recognition'.
Under the Format, Major Version and Minor Version columns you can read the current biometric Version and its format type.
The View Compatible Devices 💳 and Delete Biometric 🗑️ icons are used respectively to check the devices compatibility against the recorded biometrics, and to individually delete the biometrics.
Attached To Zones
Scroll to this section to view the list of Work Zones the User is linked to.
Do you need to remove that User from a Work Zone? Hit the Unlink button 🔗 in the top right corner of the Work Zone box! 😉
If you click once on a Work Zone, you will be able to consult the user's Clocking Activity in the last 24 hours and the Access Info (the devices the user has access to) in the tabs showing in the right block.
