Introduction

In this article, we will cover the essential actions and activities related to the Horus H1 Punch Device. It will also help you navigate the main options, manage users imported from Device Manager, and record their biometrics efficiently.

Accessing the Main Menu

The Main Menu allows you to access the list of users created on Device Manager and pushed to the device, as well as check the device connection settings. Follow the steps below to access the Main Menu.

  1. Tap on the Check-In button on the initial interface.

  2. Enter your User ID (this is automatically generated on Device Manager and given to you by your administrator). The device will automatically activate the Face Camera or the RF scanner for your card.

    πŸ€” Remember

When the device is installed at your premises, it might be in unlocked mode, which means that anyone can access its settings freely.
Thus it is extremely important that your designated Device Administrator accesses the device for the first time and records their biometrics right away, to avoid any tampering.

  3. Once logged in, you will be taken to the Main Menu.

Employees Sub-Menu

To check that the users have been pushed from Device Manager to the clocking device:

  1. Press the Employees icon on the top-left of the Main Menu.

  2. You will be redirected to the full list of employees recorded into the device.

    1. You can tap on the top-right corner's icon to *create a new user.

    2. Select the magnifying glass icon πŸ” to look for an employee.

    3. Press on the needed employee to explore the options.

🧠 *Important Tip

We highly recommend creating new users from Device Manager, as the data will be automatically synchronised with all the devices. More on how to create a new user here , or how to import an Employee here.

Enrol an Employee's Biometrics

Have the Device Administrator User navigating to Employees to manage and record biometrics for your employees.

  1. From the list of employees in the Employees screen, select the employee whose biometrics you wish to enrol.

  2. Press the Biometric icon you wish to enrol or modify. For this device you have the password, the card and the face recognition options.

⚠️ Caution

Avoid using the Delete function on your devices. Make sure to make any amendments or deletions from Device Manager, as it would give you a clearer overview of the Users details and their recorded biometric.

Enrolling a User's Facial Biometric

  1. Select an employee from the Employees screen and tap on the Face icon.

    1. Look at the device, making sure to follow the instructions on the screen.

πŸ“‹ Note: Horus H1 also supports a specific biometric called BioPhoto. This is a generic snapshot of a user's face, which is automatically converted to the version of the device it is sent to. When you go to the device to scan your face for the first time, that action will record both the Face and the BioPhoto in two separate biometric records.

Enrolling a User's Card

  1. Select an employee from the Employees screen and tap on the Card icon.

  2. The user will be asked to move the card over the device. This assigns the card's serial number to the employee.

Attendance Records Sub-Menu

  1. Tap the Attendance Records icon to access the Employees punches' history.

  2. Below shows how the records appear on the screen. You can use the magnifying glass icon πŸ” on the top black bar to filter for a specific employee.
