Introduction

In this article, we will cover the essential actions and activities related to the MultiBio and UFace 402 Punch Devices. It will also help you navigate the main options, manage users imported from Device Manager, and record their biometrics efficiently.

Accessing the Main Menu

The Main Menu allows you to access the list of users created on Device Manager and pushed to the device, as well as check the device connection settings. Follow the steps below to access the Main Menu.

  1. Tap on the Menu button on the initial interface, then enter your User ID (this is automatically generated on Device Manager and given to you by your administrator).

  2. Select the biometric type you want to use (Passcode, Fingerprint, Face, or Palm).

    πŸ€” Remember

When the device is installed at your premises, it might be in unlocked mode, which means that anyone can access its settings freely.
Thus it is extremely important that your designated Device Administrator accesses the device for the first time and records their biometrics right away, to avoid any tampering.

  3. Once logged in, you will be taken to the Main Menu.

Communication Settings Sub-Menu

To access the Device Ethernet Settings, proceed as follows:

  1. After logging in to the Main Menu, select the third icon labelled COMM.

  2. This will open the Comm. sub-menu. Here, select Ethernet.

  3. The Ethernet profile will open, from which you can edit the IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway, DNS, and TCP COMM. Port.

πŸ’‘ Tip

We recommend to keeping the DHCP switched off and assigning the device a static IP address.

User Management Sub-Menu

To check that the users have been pushed from Device Manager to the clocking device:

  1. Press the User Mgt. icon on the top-left of the Main Menu.

  2. User Mgt. gives you three options: New User, All Users, and Display Style.

  3. Select All Users to check the details of all the users synced on the device.

🧠 Important Tip

We highly recommend creating new users from Device Manager, as the data will be automatically synchronised with all the devices. More on how to create a new user πŸ‘‰ here , or import an Employee πŸ‘‰ here.

Enrol an Employee's Biometrics

Navigate to User Mgt. > All Users to manage and record biometrics for your users.

Avoid using the Delete function on your devices. Make sure to make any amendments or deletion from Device Manager as it would give you a clearer overview of the Users details and their recorded biometric.

  2. Press Edit to access the employee's settings. Here you will be able to makes changes to the user's role (normally this is done from Device Manager), as well as enrol face and fingerprint, or set a passcode.
