  • The Job Evaluation Tool (JET), built to support EU-standard fair-pay practices.

  • Updated tax bands reflecting Malta’s upcoming 2026 budget changes.

  • Geo-Fencing to prevent clockings outside selected zones.

  • In Hiring:

    • Multi-Factor Authentication to make accessing your hiring data more secure

🌟 Feature Spotlights 🌟

⚖️ The Job Evaluation Tool in HR

We’re excited to introduce Indigo’s new Job Evaluation Tool (JET). Developed in line with the EU Pay Transparency Directive, JET gives you all of the tools you need to ensure "equal pay for equal work or work of equal value [...] through pay transparency and enforcement mechanisms." 🤝

This initial launch includes three key components:

  • 🖼️ Evaluation Profile: set up your company profile and define evaluation criteria parameters that tell JET what is valuable to your company.

  • 🧮 Occupation Evaluation: evaluate jobs in your company—be it manually or with AI—based on the evaluation criteria.

  • 🗃️ Occupation Categories: group those jobs into categories based on their evaluation score, with an easy, interval-based category creation process.

With this version of JET live, our HR Advantage clients can start building a solid platform for fair occupation evaluation and a defensible, transparent reporting strategy, in time for when the directive enters national law in June 2026.

🪙 Updated Tax Bands in Payroll & Leave

Families come in all shapes and sizes, and our tax bands now do a better job of reflecting that. Following the recent 2026 budget announcements in Malta, here’s what’s changing:

  • Parent Tax Rates: updated descriptions and a new band for parents with two or more children.

  • Married Tax Rates: revised descriptions and new bands based on the number of children.

More details 👉 here.

🗺️ Geo-fencing in Attendance

Geo-fencing is the natural partner to last month’s Geo-Tagging. Enable the Geo-Fencing switch under Attendance Settings, and employees can only clock in or out within an approved Geo-Zone. Venture outside that zone, and the clocking is politely—but firmly—declined.

And for roaming heroes with roles that aren’t tied to a single site, just tick the Exclude from Geo-Fencing box in their employee profiles.

🔒 Multi-Factor Authentication and AI in Hiring 🤖

In today’s world of security threats and compliance curveballs, protecting sensitive data isn’t optional, but essential. That’s why we’ve added Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to Indigo Hiring. 🤝

Admins can enable or disable MFA via Indigo Hiring > Company Profile Settings > Multi-Factor Authentication, tailoring it to their security policies. When enabled, users add a second factor, such as a one-time code via an authenticator app or SMS, alongside their password for extra login protection.

AI Writing Assistance

Tight schedules? Writing a dozen job descriptions and screening questions takes time but our new AI assistance tool can really help you when adding or editing jobs. Just provide the required details (hover over the grey Generate buttons for tips) and let AI do the heavy lifting.

🕘 Attendance

  • Need an easy way to review clockings outside specified geo-zones? The new Geo Tagging Exceptions Report is here to help. With clear indicators for out-of-zone punches, plus filtering and grouping options by employee, geo-zone, location, and cost centre, auditing and ensuring accurate payroll has never been simpler. You can also export everything to Excel, CSV, or PDF for quick sharing and analysis.

  • No more cross-referencing multiple reports to get overtime details. The Allocations Report Excel export now includes columns dedicated to overtime (OT) hours:

    • Device: the device where overtime was recorded

    • Work Zone: the zone linked to the overtime

    • Project: the project associated with the overtime

    • OT Rate: the applicable overtime rate (visible to users with HR_EmployeePay permission)

Payroll verification simplified and cost tracking enhanced in one go. You’re welcome. ;)

  • The Overtime Request Report now provides an extra layer of clarity in Excel exports. A new column shows whether approved overtime was taken as TOIL or Paid, helping payroll and HR teams reconcile entries with confidence. Cancelled requests are automatically excluded, and the familiar layout remains unchanged for a seamless experience.

🤝 Hiring

  • Planning to contact ✉️ your recruitment team or candidates? You'll love these enhancements:

    • In Hiring Prefereneces > Jobs Reply Automation, we've added a Reply-to Email address field which can be optionally filled in for each automatic reply. Use this field to specify an email address or alias (like hr@company.com) so that one or several people will automatically get email replies from candidates.

      • Included are fields for CC and BCC emails.

    • We've added similar CC and BCC fields to email templates

    • We've added the variable %job_title% to mail templates, as previously it was only available in the auto-reply feature.

  • Meanwhile, we've added a check box in the job creation and edit screens that lets you hide the required experience level from the public.

🛠️ Fixes and Improvements

  • We've optimised how logos work so that white company logos still show correctly across the platform. 🖼️

  • Scheduling a call with Outlook will no longer take you to the login screen if you are already logged in the same browser.

  • The minimum character limit for the Career Page URL has been lowered to 2 characters, ensuring companies with short acronyms are catered for.

  • Candidates that are added to the system by recruiters are being rated as normal. ⚖️

  • Posted jobs now read "Posted on" rather than "Posted it". Small typo, whoops! 💦

  • In Jobs Performance Analytics, the Apply starters box has been renamed to Incomplete Applications.

  • The Jobs → calendar integration is displaying interviews on time in Outlook and Google Calendar. A time zone 🌐 issue connected to the handling of the event time in the .ics file has been sorted.

👨🏻‍💼 HR

  • A new member has joined the Position History (Basic Pay) tab: the Reporting To field. You can now plan and track future changes, including updates to the leave approvers hierarchy. As with the previous fields, you can select a value and choose an effective date—and you're good to go! When the date is reached, the new value will appear in the employee profile, and the Organisation Chart will be updated accordingly.

🛠️ Fixes and Improvements

  • When editing an expense pay item in the Approval System, the header now shows the pay item’s name instead of the generic ‘Expense’, making it easier to identify what you’re working on.

  • Expense claims with attachments can now be saved without errors, ensuring a smoother submission process.

  • Task Management:

    • Changing the Task Type now keeps the folder path starting from the root Employee File as intended.

    • Saving a new task template after using Save and Create another now works as expected. The folder destination is correctly retained, so you no longer need to re-select it before saving.

    • The ‘Move to’ pop-up now opens in the correct folder when you change a task template’s destination, ensuring navigation is consistent and accurate.

🔮 Insights

People Insights is back with a bang with these four new updates:

  • In ESG:

    • 📊 More flexibile data views: You can now view Headcount, Subcontractors, Full Timers, and Non Full Time staff as 1-month snapshots, giving you sharper, up-to-date insights into your workforce

    • 💻 The Matrix goes full screen: Clicking a simple Expand button is all it takes to help you dive deeper into your data than ever before, making column and row selection even smoother.

    • 📖 Easy to grasp explanations: A new info button has been added, explaining the ESG screen in detail.

  • Meanwhile, over in Payroll Costs:

    • 🤔 Know what you're looking at: Hover over bars in the Costs across Years visual for a tooltip to see exactly what’s driving payroll changes, from FTE shifts to overtime and more.

💸 Payroll & Leave

  • We’ve updated the HSBC payroll bank file to meet the bank’s latest validation rules, ensuring smoother uploads and fewer errors. Structured and hybrid address formats are now supported for full compliance ahead of HSBC’s 2026 requirements.
