There are times when you need to grant leave entitlement to the entire company—usually when a new year looms large in the last quarter of the year. Indigo Payroll & Leave has a handy Global Leave Entitlements utility that lets you give out leave entitlement with just a few clicks.

A Quick Note about Leave Entitlement Values in Indigo
The Leave Types for vacation, sick, and sick full pay are automatically updated in Indigo by Shireburn staff, using the standard values announced by the government.
Different organisations choose to give additional leave to their employees or have different leave agreements with their staff. The same applies to sick leave and sick half pay leave. If your organisation needs to change any of these amounts, your Payroll administrator will need to configure them.
Checking the Leave Entitlement Profile
Go to Payroll & Leave > Leave > Leave Entitlement Profiles.
In the Hours tab, find the entry for the new year's leave entitlement.
The 'Annual Leave Hours' column shows the basic leave entitlement for all employees. Take note of this number for later.
Using the Global Leave Entitlement Utility
Go back to Payroll & Leave > Utilities > Global Leave Entitlements.
Under 'Leave options' on the right, you'll see the 'Leave type' field. Click the search (🔍) icon.
The Leave Type modal will open, find and select the entry for the new year's leave entitlement, then click OK. (This closes the modal and returns you to the Global Leave Entitlements screen.)
Remember that number you took down earlier? Enter it in the 'No. of hrs' box now.
🧠 Reminder! Organisations offering more than the basic leave entitlement will need to enter the respective amount in this same field.
In Leave Allocation, select 'Pro-Rata'.
Finally, click Generate at the bottom of the side menu.
Assigning Sick and Sick Half Pay Globally
To assign sick leave entitlement and sick leave half pay entitlement globally, the process is exactly the same. All you need to do is choose the corresponding leave entitlement in the Leave Type modal at step 3.

We know mistakes happen! If, for whatever reason, the wrong leave entitlement was entered, or perhaps accidentally generated twice, it can be fixed.
Follow steps 1-3 above.
In 'No. of hrs', enter the same amount you entered before, this time in the negative.
Click Generate.
