Introduction

If you regularly post similar nominal transactions again, you don't need to start from scratch each time. Indigo Business lets you duplicate an existing posted transaction and adjust it as required. This article walks you through the process step by step.

The Steps

To duplicate a posted transaction:

  1. Go to Nominal > General > Audit Trail.

  2. Select the transaction you want to duplicate.

  3. Click on the Duplicate transaction button at the top-left of the grid.

  4. Select Yes in the confirmation message to confirm.

  5. An exact draft copy titled Copy of [transaction ID] will be created and opened in edit mode. This copy is visible in the Drafts section.

  6. Update the title, add line items, or amend the existing ones as needed.

  7. Select Post when you're ready.

The Result

  • When you post this new copied transaction, it'll generate a brand new transaction with its own Tran ID.

  • The posted transaction appears in the Nominal Audit Trail and, depending on the transaction type, also in the relevant ledger audit trail.
