Introduction

If you find yourself posting similar nominal transactions again and again, there is no need to start from scratch. Indigo Business allows you to duplicate a posted transaction and adjust it as required. This article walks you through the process step by step.

The Steps

To duplicate a posted transaction:

  1. Navigate to Nominal > General > Audit Trail.

  2. Click on the transaction line you want to duplicate to highlight it.

  3. Click on the Duplicate transaction button at the top left of the grid.

  4. Select Yes in the confirmation message.

  5. An exact draft copy titled Copy of [transaction ID] of the selected transaction will be created and be displayed in edit mode.

    • The draft is visible in the Drafts section. More about it πŸ‘‰ here.

  6. Modify the title, add line items or modify the existing ones as needed.

  7. Select Post, when ready.

The Result

  • When you'll post this new copied transaction, it'll generate a brand new transaction with its own Tran ID.

  • The posted transaction is visible in the Nominal Audit Trail and, depending on the type of transaction duplicated, also in the relevant ledger audit trail.
