Introduction
In this article we'll be covering how to post a manual journal entry in your nominal ledger using Indigo Business.
β
π€ Remember: A journal entry must include at least two lines using the double-entry method, meaning one debit and one credit to one or more accounts. These amounts must offset each other. If the credits do not offset the debits, the system will not post the journal.
Creating a Nominal Journal Entry
Go to Nominal > Posting > Nominal Journal.
βThe Nominal Journal page will open.
βFill in at least the mandatory fields (*) and the optional ones, if needed.
Select Add line item.
As soon as a line item is added, the journal is saved as a draft .The page's title changes from Nominal Journal to Draft Journal.
Repeat step 4 to add as many line items as needed. The added line items will appear in the relevant grid.
Review the line items and totals.
Select Post at the bottom right corner.
βSelect Post in the confirmation pop-up.
β
If the auto balancing setting is enabled, a different posting confirmation pop-up is displayed. More on this topic π here.

The Result
