Administrator(s), You're Up!
Your company’s journey in Indigo Business starts with user creation and access management. This is handled by the tenant administrator. 👩🏼💼 If that's you, then your first job will be to onboard all of your colleagues. This normally means:
🔑 Knowing who to onboard and the kind of access their user will need.
📋 Creating their users, complete with permissions.
⛵ Inviting them aboard.
The User Management Screen in Indigo Hub
While you may be onboarding your users for Indigo Business, most user management actually takes place in Indigo Hub, specifically the User Management screen. From here, you can create users for your colleagues, assign permissions, invite them to join, and manage access across your team.
The screen is accessed from Indigo Hub.
In the top-left corner of the Welcome to Indigo Hub page, click 📓Administration and then User Management.
And that's it ... Welcome to the User Management screen!
User Management
Creating Users
✔️ Pro tip: Before you begin, have these user details ready for a smooth setup: alias, email address, first name, and last name.
To create a user:
In Indigo Hub, open User Management.
Above the grid, select ➕ Insert.
In the Add User panel, enter the required details.
Select Save.
Following this process, the user is immediately added to the grid, where you'll notice that the account is marked as Active, but does not have credentials set. This simply means the user hasn’t been invited or hasn’t accepted their invitation yet.
Copying, Editing and Deleting Users
Copying, Editing and Deleting Users
Users can be copied, edited or deleted from the User Management screen, using buttons in the grid's toolbar. Click the required user in the grid, then click:
The 2-paper button to copy.
The pencil button to edit.
The trash icon to delete.
When copying or editing a user, don't forget to click Save!
Setting Up Permissions
Once a user is created, you must assign them access to Indigo Business based on their role.
To manage your users' access to Indigo Business:
Click on the required user's row in the grid.
Go to the Access Control tab, under the User Management screen header.
Click on the ✏️ Edit button.
Click on the required levels of access you'd like to give the user.
Before you select an option like Company Administrator, the parent section, like Accounting, must be toggled on.
When done, click the 💾 Save button in the bottom right corner.
⚠️ Careful! If you're managing more than one company under the same tenant, make sure to give each user the right level of access specific to the company they need it in. This is done by selecting the required permission group in the correct row.
🏃 Quick navigation: Easily switch between users without leaving the Access Control tab by using the arrow buttons in the upper part of the screen.

About Indigo Business's Access Control (click to expand)
The Access Control tab groups permissions into role-based access levels, making it easier to assign access based on a user's responsibilities. Access is organised into two layers, which can be enabled using their respective toggles:
Accounting: controls access to accounting features and functions within Indigo Business.
Tenant Management: controls access to tenant administration features and functions in Indigo Hub.
The tables below summarise each access layer and its available roles and permissions:
Accounting
Role | Type of Access |
Company Administrator | All features
|
Accounts Clerk | General posting and features in Nominal, Purchases and Sales |
Purchases Clerk | General posting and features in Purchases (purchase ledger) |
Sales Clerk | General posting and features in Sales (sales ledger) |
Viewer | Read-only. No editing rights. For auditors and similar stakeholders |
Global |
|
Global Administrator | Administrative access to features not specific to companies |
Tenant Management
Role | Type of Access |
Tenant Administrator | This is your access type as admin in Indigo Hub. Assign to another user to have similar management abilities. |
Inviting Users
🧠 Good to know! You can technically invite your colleagues as soon as you’ve created a user for them. To avoid access-related errors, however, send invitations only after you’ve assigned the appropriate access permissions.
To invite a colleague:
In the User Management screen, go to the Users tab.
Select the user in the grid.
Click the 👤+ Invite button in the toolbar, followed by > Send.
Great job! 🏆 After step 3, all selected users will receive an invitation email with a link to the log in page, where they can sign up to start exploring and using Indigo Business.
🏃 Bulk invitations! If you've created multiple users, you can invite them all at once. Click the checkbox in the right-most column next to each user’s name, then click Invite followed by > Send.
