Overview

Geo-Accuracy Validation is an Indigo Attendance setting which improves the accuracy of GPS location checks for employee clockings. It builds on the existing Mandatory Location Capture setting by allowing you to define an acceptable distance, in metres, between the employee's recorded location and the clocking location.

This helps the system assess whether clockings should be accepted or rejected based on a more accurate location reading. The feature applies to clockings made through both the browser and the Indigo mobile app.

Enabling Geo-Accuracy Validation

To enable Geo-Accuracy Validation:

  1. Go to Indigo Attendance > Settings > Attendance > Clockings.

  2. Click the pencil (Edit) ✏️ button.

  3. Ensure that Mandatory Location Capture is enabled. ⚠️ This feature will not work without it.

  4. Tick Enable Geo-Accuracy Validation for Mobile App Clockings.

  5. If necessary, adjust the Geo Accuracy Validation Distance field to set your preferred distance in metres. The default is 50 metres.

  6. Click the checkmark (Save) ✔️ button in the toolbar below the Clockings header to save your changes.

💃 Move around! GPS readings can fluctuate, even when you are within the permitted radius. If a clocking is rejected, try moving around and submitting it again.

⚠️ Be advised: the default validation distance is 50 metres. You can increase this distance in areas where GPS accuracy may be weaker, or decrease it if you require stricter location validation. However, setting a smaller distance increases the likelihood of legitimate clockings being rejected.
