Overview
Indigo Performance Management includes various settings that allow HR administrators to tailor the performance review process to their company's requirements.
Some of these settings control how reviews are scheduled for viewing and when evaluation managers can access employees' self-appraisals. They are available in the Settings tab in Performance Management.
Schedule a Future Viewing Date
Switched on by default, this setting lets evaluation managers schedule a future date on which employees can view their completed performance evaluations.
✅ When enabled: managers can choose when to make evaluations visible to employees, rather than having them become available immediately upon publication.
This helps with:
Greater control over the timing of review feedback.
Better coordination with planned performance review discussions.
Review Visibility Policy
The Review Visibility Policy determines whether or not evaluation managers can view an employee's self-appraisal before publishing their own evaluation.
There are two available approaches:
Mutual blind review (default): neither the evaluation manager nor the employee can view the other's evaluation until both have been published.
This promotes independent assessments by ensuring that neither party is influenced by the other's feedback before submitting their own.
Manager can view employee's self-appraisal: evaluation managers can view an employee's self-appraisal as soon as it is published, without having to publish their own evaluation first.
This can be useful for companies that want managers to consider the employee's own perspective when preparing their evaluation.
It can also help reduce potential assessment biases, such as recency bias, by giving managers an opportunity to consider achievements and contributions that may have happened earlier in the review period but are less immediately memorable.
🤔 Remember: both settings are controlled by HR administrators through the Settings tab in Indigo Performance Management. They can be configured to better reflect the company's preferred performance review practices.
