You may have the need to include employees in your system who are not on your company's payroll but their absence or leave needs to be registered in Indigo. For example, you may need to enter leave for a company director or a sub-contracted employee.

You can create employees in Indigo who will not be eligible for payrolls but whose leave can be entered and audited in your system.

To create an employee for leave purposes only in Indigo, create the employee as you would any other, but do not insert an employment date. It is the employment date that makes an employee eligible to be included in payrolls in Indigo.

At minimum, the employee profile needs:

  • Code

  • Surname and Name

  • Date of birth

  • Leave entitlements

  • Work schedule profile

With the profile created, you can now enter leave requests for the non-payroll employee.
