What is the Clocking Map View?

The Clocking Map View gives you a visual of all clocking data received by Indigo Attendance, showing the clock-ins and clock-outs on a map.


How do I access the Clocking Map View?

Before you can access the Clocking Map View, you must have the following permission set assigned: TA_ClockingDataMapView.

There are three ways to access the Clocking Map View:

Method 1

Go to Attendance > Main > Clocking Map View.

Method 2

  1. Go to Attendance > Main > Clocking Data.

  2. Click on Menu > Clocking Data Map View.

Please note that any date filters in the Clocking Data grid will automatically be applied to the Clocking Data Map View.

Method 3

Go to the Portal/Employee Dashboard > Scheduler widget and click on the 'View Clocking Data on Map' link.

The Clocking Map View will open in a new tab.


Using the Clocking Map View

There are several filtering options you can use to decide which data to show in the map. These are contained in two modals that can be hidden easily: the Employees Container and the Filtering Options Pane.

Employees Container

You can search and filter employees using the Employees Container, as well as export the current data to Excel, refresh, and change your Data and Preference options.

Searching and Filtering Employees

The search bar lets you search for employees using their name or employee code.

There are two tabs to help you filter employees:

  • Employees: this is the full list of employees, which can be sorted by descending or ascending order of employee code. Select employees using the tick boxes.

  • My Team: this tab contains only the employees on your team. Users who do not have any subordinates reporting to them will not see this tab.

The map and grid are intuitive. This means that when you click on a map marker, the data grid will automatically filter to show the information matching that selected marker. Likewise, if you click on an entry in the data grid, the map will hide all unrelated markers and only show the ones matching the data.

Export to Excel

Export to Excel to have a quick spreadsheet report of the current data visible on your map. Remember that any active filters will be respected in the export.

Data and Preferences

Click on the cogwheel in the Employees Container to view the Data and Preferences modals.

In Data, you can choose whether to view clockings individually or as clusters, and whether to show both Clock-Ins and Clock-Outs or just one of the two.

In Preferences, you can choose how much detail to show on the map using the Map Detail slider, and whether to use the Standard Theme or the Dark Theme.

Filtering Options Pane

  • Date Range: choose the dates you want to view.

  • Clocked in After, Clocked out Before: these are the cut-off times for punches. For example, if 'Clocked in After' is set to 09:10, only clock-ins from 09:11 will be shown on the map; and likewise if 'Clocked out Before' is set to 16:50, only clock-outs before 16:50 will be shown on the map.

  • Department: choose which departments' clockings you want to see on the map.

  • Cost Centres: choose which cost centres' clockings you want to see on the map.

  • Locations: choose which locations to show on the map.

  • Device Type: choose which devices to include on the map. (Note: 'Device' is for devices that are not connected to Indigo's Device Manager; 'Managed Device' is for devices that are connected to Indigo's Device Manager.)

Geo-Accuracy Limit (m)

The Geo-Accuracy Limit, along with the zoom and street view functions, are available in the bottom right corner of the map.

The Geo-Accuracy Limit ensures that you only retrieve data that is accurate within a set degree in metres, such as +/- 5 metres.

Map or Satellite View

Change the view from Map to Satellite using the buttons on the top left of the screen.

(If the Employees Container is in the way, you can drag it or hide it.)


Reading the Clocking Map View

Map Legend

Clusters, in the shape of radiating points, use hot-cold colours to show the density of grouped clockings located close together:

  • Blue radiating point - Level 1 Clustering (low density)

  • Yellow radiating point - Level 2 Clustering (medium density)

  • Red radiating point - Level 3 Clustering (high density)

  • Pink radiating point - Level 4 Clustering (very high density)

Markers, in the shape of pinpoints, show clock-ins, clock-outs, paired clockings, and locations:

  • Green: Clock In

  • Orange: Clock Out

  • Dual green and orange: Clock In - Out Pair (when matched clockings occur within 10 metres of each other)

  • Blue: Location
