There are five rules that can be used for rewards:

Multiple rules can be applied to a reward.

Use this rule to reward employees with an additional allowances based on a multiplier and a pay item.

Change hourly rate

Use this rule to reward employees with a change to their pay rate. This is not available for rewards of Type: Target Attendance.

Allocate time

Use this rule to reward employees with add basic hours or overtime.

Add leave entitlement

Use this rule to reward employees with additional leave entitlements. A leave type must be assigned to this rule.

For both rules Allocate time, specifically 'Add overtime', and Add leave entitlement, there is an option to include rounding and/or limits. You can view and edit the settings for these functions using the cog icon as indicated below.

Rounding

The available options for Rounding are:

  • None: No rounding is applied.

  • Rounding: traditional rounding is applied according to the rounding interval entered.

  • Ceiling (Round Up): time amounts are rounded up according to the rounding interval entered.

  • Floor (Round Down): time amounts are rounded down according to the rounding interval entered.

The default setting for Rounding is 'None'. Click on the blue ? button to bring up the help note.

Limits

Limits provide control over the minimum and maximum amount of time that can be allocated to an attendance exception by this reward.

  • Minimum: any allocated time under the entered amount will be increased to this value.

  • Maximum: any allocated time over the entered amount will be capped to this value.

Click on the blue ? button to bring up the help note on Limits.

When rounding or limits have been applied to a rule, this is indicated by the colour of the cog icon:

Add allowance (formula)

Use this rule to reward employees with an additional allowances based on a custom formula and a pay item.

You can compose your formula with hourly rates, shift hours, attendance hours, and leave hours. The formula is not case sensitive, but is needs to be written in the manner illustrated below.
