Overview

HR administrators can see their companies' Skills & Training data in several charts on the Skills and Training dashboard in People Insights. Use it for a bird's eye view of your staff's training and skillsets, and to support your ongoing educational plans by helping you better identify where to allocate training resources.

Accessing the Skills and Training Dashboard

Available to Indigo's HR Advantage subscribers, the Skills & Training dashboard can be found by clicking on People Insights in the main menu, then clicking on the Skills and Training entry at the bottom of People Insights' side menu.

To give access to other users in your company, assign the permission SkillsAndTrainingInsights with the 'View' action enabled.

Skills & Training Charts

You can set the parameters for the data in the dashboard from the header, using the Selected Companies dropdown to choose which companies to include, and the date picker to specify the date range for which to retrieve data.

To the right of these two settings, you'll see the stats for Active Employees, Trained Employees, Training Courses, Training Hours, and Average Hours.

The Skills & Training dashboard's data is shown in four charts:

  • Training Hours by Course: this bar chart shows the number of hours to the nearest thousand per course.

  • Training Hours by Month: here you can see how many training hours were covered, broken down by month, and again shown to the nearest thousand.

  • Training Current State: this donut chart splits current completed training entries into Completed & Expired (light blue), Completed (red), and Completed with Future Expiry (dark blue). Each segment shows the data both as a number and as a percentage.

  • Trained Employees vs Active Employees by [Category]: placed at the lower end of the dashboard, this section is made up of a bar chart on the left and a grid on the right.

    • By default, the chart is set to show the data by Department, but you can choose any other criteria from the dropdown above the bar chart.

    • The grid drills the data down on an individual level, listing your employees in the Fullname column and how much time they've spent on training under the Training Hours column. The fully combined total of training hours is placed in bold at the bottom of the grid.
