Assigning an Evaluation Manager to your Reviews

Learn how to set a reviewer different from the one automatically assigned by the organisation chart

What is an Evaluation Manager?

The Evaluation Manager is the designated reviewer for your reviews. Employees who have subordinates in the organisation chart are generally set up as default reviewers, and therefore as Evaluation Managers, when reviews are assigned.


Updating the Evaluation Manager

If you cannot change the organisation chart structure, but another person should handle the reviews, you can update the Evaluation Manager:

  • When starting a single review. The next review will not maintain your choice and will default back to the manager defined in the organisation chart.

  • Using the 'Edit evaluation manager' option in the kebab menu at the top left of the My Team and Employees grids. From then on, the Evaluation Manager (reviewer) is consistently assigned whenever you start a new review cycle for the selected employees.

Below are the steps to achieve each of the outcomes described above.

Updating Evaluation Manager for a Single Review

  1. Use the search field under the Manager column to select the needed evaluation manager for this specific review.

  2. Repeat step 2 in the same window for each employee you're starting the review for.

  3. When starting the review, it is assigned to the selected employees and evaluation manager. This applies only to the current review.

Edit Evaluation Manager for all Future Reviews

  1. Go to Performance Management > Team or Employees.

  2. Open the kebab menu at the top right of the grid, and select Edit evaluation manager.

    • You can optionally select employees directly from the Employees or My Team grids before clicking Edit evaluation manager.

  3. The 'Edit evaluation manager for' pop-up window will open.

  4. Tick or untick the relevant employees from grid. Employees selected before opening the window will already be ticked.

    • Activate the column filters using the designated button at the top right corner of the window. This helps you find your employees faster.

  5. At the bottom of the window, start typing and select the right evaluation manager from the Search field. You can select one from all the companies under the same tenant.

  6. The selected person's details will be displayed below the Search field.

  7. To confirm your choice, select one of the following:

    1. Update to save your selection and continue making changes in the same window.

    2. Update & Close to save your selection and close the window.

  8. Finalise the process by selecting Save in the resulting pop-up window.


The selected evaluation manager will now be applied automatically to all future performance reviews for all the selected employees. If needed, you can still override it on a single review as explained ➡️ here.
