Creating a Penalty Preset

Indigo Attendance enables you to create rewards and penalties for shift exceptions, such as excess time or leave, in your system.

To create a penalty preset:

  1. Go to Attendance > Penalties.

  2. Click New Penalty in the top right of the screen, then enter a name for the new penalty.

  3. Choose 'Type' and 'Based On', then set conditions and rules; choose whether to assign to groups or shift presets; and choose if approval is needed.

  4. Click Save.

The penalty is automatically allocated to employees when the penalty’s conditions are met.

Any shift that has been previously allocated, amended, or finalised for payroll calculations will not be affected by any new penalties created and assigned to an employee group or shift preset.

It is recommended to create penalties (and rewards) while creating shifts and before allocating shifts to your employees in your Scheduler

If you need to create a new penalty, it is best to do so after making all allocations and amendments to shifts and finalising a payroll period

To edit an existing penalty, after opening the Penalty Presets page, click Cancel in the top right of the page, then click on a penalty in the left sidebar. Make your changes and click Save.

Create dual conditions for penalties

You can create and/or conditions for penalties.

Create and/or conditions by clicking the + button and setting in the Conditions section.

Use AND to create penalties where two conditions must be met. Use OR to create penalties where one out of two conditions must be met.
