Apply for Leave Through Indigo Mobile

Managing your leave requests

The Leave tab in the mobile app gives Indigo users a wide range of actions to make managing their leave convenient.

Start by opening the Indigo mobile app, log in, and then tap Leave, located at the bottom of the main screen.

Applying for leave

Applying for leave begins at the calendar in the Apply tab.

  1. In the calendar, start by tapping on the date on which you would like to take leave. Note: in the example provided, the date highlighted in outline (the 15th) represents the current day, while the date marked in blue indicates your chosen date.

  2. To apply for leave spanning several days in a row, select a second date. The series of days for which you are requesting leave will be highlighted.

  3. You now need to enter the additional details of your leave:

    • Under Apply for, select the leave type for your request. Tap Advanced to see more options, all of which are based on your currently assigned and available Leave Entitlements.
    • Under Leave Time, choose the duration of your leave. Options typically include Full, Morning, Afternoon, or Other (specified hours), with the variety of choices depending on your working hours, scheduled shifts and leave entitlements.

  4. You can tap Add Remark to include an optional written message with your leave application. Use the Edit Remark button to change an existing note.

  5. Finally, hit that big blue Apply For Vacation button! You will be met by a screen confirming that your request has been sent to your leave authoriser. A Take me there! link will direct you to the History tab, which is detailed in the next section.

The app's calendar aims to be as informative as the one found on the browser version, highlighting days according to the different kinds of leave you have taken.

It highlights days with taken or pending leave by underlining them with various colours, each colour denoting a distinct type of leave, including annual, sick, and remote work, among others. You can find the key for these colours right below the calendar.

View Leave History

The History tab in Indigo Mobile provides a detailed overview of your upcoming leave days, along with pending and past leave periods and requests.

There are various ways to navigate to this tab:

  • In the main (Home) screen, find the Your Upcoming Leave section and tap View All;

  • Tap Leave at the bottom, then the History tab at the top of the Leave screen.

  • Tap the Take me there! link once you finish applying for leave (see above).

The History tab will show you:

  • whether all of your vacation requests have been approved (if there are any that are not, they will be marked with an orange Pending Approval status);

  • the dates (and times) of your upcoming and past leave;

  • remarks you may have left on your requests;

Cancel a Leave Request

You can cancel both pending and approved leave requests in Indigo Mobile.

  1. Start by going to the History tab using any of the navigation methods listed above.

  2. Scroll up or down to find the required leave card.

  3. Tap that card's Cancel button.

  4. Confirm cancellation by tapping CANCEL in the 'Are you sure you want to cancel?' message that pops up.

  5. Et voilà! This final screen will alert you that a request to cancel the selected instance of leave has been sent to your leave authoriser or Indigo admin. Tap Done to go back.
