Leave Widget

The Leave Widget in the Employee Portal offers a breakdown of current leave requests including any pending and approved requests as well as a breakdown of who is on leave today and tomorrow.

Approving Leave Requests

Leave requests sent by employees using Indigo Payroll are received by the respective Primary Leave Authorizer(s), as set up in Indigo HR. If you are a Primary Leave Authorizer to any number of employees, you might receive leave requests which you can either approve or decline.

To view pending leave requests awaiting your approval, in the Employee Portal, refer to the "Leave" widget. Here, the number of pending requests will be enumerated under "Leave awaiting your approval" as shown in the screenshot below. Click on the number as highlighted below to get started.

In the Leave Approval screen, you can view all pending leave requests. This screen will show all the leave requests, grouped by date. A day in which two employees have requested leave in will show two entries in the same day.

Clicking on a chat icon next to the name will show any remarks attributed to it.

Clicking on the leave record will show other employees that have leave on the same dates as the requests on the right side of the screen.

Hover your mouse over the name of the employee to see who submitted the leave request and when (this is to show whether another employee submitted the leave request on behalf of the present employee).

To approve or decline leave, you can click on the buttons next to each request accordingly. You can click on the cross next to the buttons to clear your selection.

Once done, you can add any remarks at the bottom right side of the screen, and click submit, or cancel. Actions will only be taken for leave requests that you have given a selection for (approve or decline).

Alternatively, you can click on "Approve All" or "Decline All" at the top of the screen. You can then make amendments to the selection per leave request. Upon making a selection, a "Clear All" button will show next to these buttons as well.

Second Authorisers

Second Authorisers can approve leave from a Primary Authoriser's subordinates in the case of the latter's absence. If you have been configured as a Second Authoriser, leave requests from the Primary Authoriser's subordinates will show under Leave awaiting approval as shown in the screenshot below.

To approve leave as a Second Authoriser, follow the same procedure as when approving leave for your subordinates, however, ensure that All Approvals is selected in the Approve Leave screen as shown in the screenshot below.
