Manual allocation of shifts by proximity

The first step is to configure your Attendance module to identify shifts attended based on the proximity method. By using this method, shifts are allocated to employees in your scheduler by comparing the attended times against the closest shift start time. This is done automatically each time you import clocking data into Indigo. This allows you to populate your Scheduler without having to manually insert shifts or shift patterns.

To auto-allocate shifts by proximity:

The system will import the clocking data and compare the actual clocking times for employees against the timings of your shift presets in order to auto-allocate shifts by proximity in your Scheduler.

You may encounter a situation where the system has allocated more than one shift for an employee for any number of days. It is recommended to manually intervene with these issues by deleting or replacing shifts.

You may receive proximity warnings following the import. Please read this FAQ about proximity warnings to learn more about them and how to deal with them.

The manual allocation of shifts by proximity caters for situations when, after you have already imported attendances, you have changed shift tolerances, timings, rewards related to shift presets, new shift presets and employee group filter adjustments. It is a useful tool to use when you need update your Scheduler because of changes to shift data.

When using this method, Indigo will provide you a text file containing proximity warnings and other scheduling issues for you to heed and correct.

To manually allocate shifts by proximity. open your Scheduler and click on File > Reallocate shifts using proximity.

The system will allocate shifts by proximity. It will then produce a text file containing any proximity issues in your Scheduler.
